The Texada Island Chamber of Commerce serves businesses, residents, and also brings together various organizations to hear community updates (such as from the Van Anda & Gillies Bay Fire Departments, Texada Arts Culture & Tourism, Texada Heritage Society, Emergency Preparedness, Ferry Advisory Committee updates, Powell River Regional District Updates, etc.)

Membership Fees (Annual)

$35 for a business; $10 for an individual; $15 for 2 individuals in a residence

Directors Filings:   Non-reporting entity, originally registered with the province

 

Extra-provincial non-share corporation (registered in 2018)

 

 

Number of Directors:  9 directors, plus a president, vice president, treasurer, and secretary

 

Director Positions:  2-year terms: 4 positions opening in the even years, 5 opening in the odd years

 

 

Meetings

Chamber Dinner Forums are held on the last Fridays of September, November, January, March and May, at the Texada Island Inn. Arrive at 6 pm. Dinner service is at 6:30 pm. Dinner reservations are required in advance.

 

Board & Business Meetings are held once every two months throughout Fall, Winter, and Spring on Tuesday evenings from 6 - 8 pm at the Seniors Centre in Gillies Bay. These meetings are open to all members of the community. No membership is required.
